Thai-Lao Trip Food: Day 2
Photos by MJ Klein WARNING: FOOD PHOTOS!
We know how much our readers love food photos, and we’re more than happy to bring them to you! Recently we featured a series on our trip to Thailand and Laos. We thank the many people who enjoyed those articles and commented on them. So now it’s time to bring you the food adventures we experienced on our trip! So, without further delay, we are pleased to present this first installment in the series:
If you would like to follow along and read about what we did on our first day, you should view this article. We had dinner at the Roma Hotel in Khonkaen.
Our meal started out with a famous Thai dish – Phad Thai! This dish featured the large noodles that I really like.
All too soon, it was the last day of our Thai/Lao trip! We spent the last day in Khonkaen, walking around and seeing the sights.
As we left our hotel we saw these Thai luxury buses with a tour group arriving at our hotel. Thai luxury buses are pretty good, but not quite up to the standards of Taiwanese buses.

After our adventures in northern Laos, it was time to head back to Thailand.
We asked our friend Mr. Oath to meet us at the Thai/Lao border. Since photography in the border zone is forbidden, I didn’t get any photos of him picking us up, and quite frankly I was so happy to see him after all that time that I totally forgot about taking any photos for the blog. We got into his friend’s car and headed to Udon Thani.

We took our rented car out of Khonkaen and down to the village of Sabua in Muang Phon. As you can see, it was barely large enough for me to sit in.

We are pleased to bring you this series on our recent trip to Thailand and Laos!
We parked our car in one of those parking lots near the airport, and took a shuttle bus to the airport terminal.

Hui-chen and I just returned from an 11 day trip to Thailand and Laos. It was a fantastic trip that we shared with bloggers Michael Turton and Michael Cannon. We’ll be bringing you many articles in this new series and hopefully give you an idea of what it’s like to travel with us to these exotic destinations.
We look forward to your comments on this upcoming series!

As you may recall from our last trip to Thailand, we showed you this area where you can find lots of street food:
This time we’re going to visit each and every food stall and show you they’re preparing.

Hui-chen and I love to shop, and when we travel we love to shop even more! We’ll show you one of our favorite shops and what you can expect to find there.
But, we have to get there first. We’ll take a walk and look at the shops along the way.

Khonkaen has a market that is not visible from any street. If you don’t know where this market is, you may never end up visiting it.
The Hidden Market is found between blocks, in an area between the buildings. I had been to Khonkaen a dozen times before I stumbled across it.
