Photos by MJ Klein FOOD PHOTOS!
Last night, Hui-chen and I were invited to a grill party at A-dong’s new place. This is the time of year when the Lunar Festival is celebrated (according to the lunar calendar) in Taiwan and other places in Asia. It’s also known as the mid-Autumn festival and people usually have a grill party outdoors. The weather is normally very nice at this time of year in Taiwan, and last night was no exception.

This is A-dong on the far left of this frame. He treated everyone to the food and literally dozens of bottles of beer.

Food Photos by Hui-chen
Recently we brought you the story about Thai New Year in Taiwan. Now we’re going to review the food that was seen and enjoyed during the holiday celebration!

Taoyuan Stadium had a wealth of food available to celebrants of the holiday, and this is just the beginning! We see sweet corn on the left and some kind of sweet confection on the right.

I apologize for the late blogging but I am quite sick, what with our heavy travel and performance schedules. I seem to have picked up a flu virus, and I’m trying to recover.
UPDATE: Hui-chen helped me straighten out some of the confusion! Additions are in red type.

Our story begins in Taipei. Here we see a competition dance team preparing themselves. Notice the vertical sign in the background. This is a cultural event for SE Asian workers here in Taiwan.

Food (and other) Photos by MJ Klein
We’ve had some remarkable meals recently that I want to bring to you. So, without any further delay, we’ll get right into it!

Hui-chen and I attended the Taipei Bike Show, where we met up with our friend David Reid. David suggested that we eat at the famous hamburger restaurant called Forkers. We were not disappointed!

A new movie premiered in northern Taiwan this weekend. Also, a new band premiered as well. This is part one of the story and there is a lot to tell – so let’s get started!
Shot entirely in Taiwan, Detours to Paradise is a brand new movie with premiers in Taoyuan, Taipei, Taichung and Kaohsiung.

UPDATE: I forgot to mention that all the photos from this event are available in a single group on Flickr. I encourage all the Flickrites who attended this event to add their photos to this group. Thanks!
The story of Bushman’s Blogtoberfest party began long ago, almost as soon as the first party was over. I wanted to bring the Taiwan English bloggers together on a scale that had never been done before. The first order of business was to find a place to have the party.
While some people complained about the event being held in Hukou, most people welcomed the break and an opportunity to visit a small town to relax. Most people also recognized the economic advantage of having an event like this in a small town where prices could be kept at a minimum. Indeed, if this event had been held in Taipei it would have cost several times what it did, ignoring the fact that finding a place where we could do what we wanted is pretty much next to impossible.
