One thing that I wasn’t prepared for is the overwhelming response from the blog readers.  Of the comments that deal with my personal participation, 100% are positive and supportive.  Read for yourself:

Tim Maddog said… You wrote: - - - Many people have wondered why I did not immediately sell my photographs to the local press. - - - I, for one, totally appreciate and agree with the decision you made. I’m quite curious as to how the “local” press acted with regard to acquiring your photos. With this unique experience, can you give us a peek behind the curtain as to how the various stations may have (mis-)behaved? This might help others understand why they should follow your example in the future. Tim Maddog 11:00

The New Hampshire Bushman in Taiwan: PUBLIC STATEMENT ON THE 5371 ACCIDENT

Michael said… Sir, it is very honorable of you to help with the investigation, and not cash in on your photos at first opportunity. As a Taiwanese living in the US, I’d say we need more people like you on both sides of the Pacific and everywhere else. 00:41

The New Hampshire Bushman in Taiwan: PUBLIC STATEMENT ON THE 5371 ACCIDENT

Wayne said… Hey, Mr.Klein I am just want to thank you on behalf of Taiwanese people for what you are doing with the photos. It is great to see a foreigner who would do such a great thing like this. We, Taiwanese, should be ashamed of this because I have not seen much actions being taken regarding this issue except the politicians trying to get more publicity. Again, I just want you to know that there is a lot of people who appreciate and touched by your actions. 08:25

The New Hampshire Bushman in Taiwan: 5371 The First Photo

cfimages said… Have you had media interest (in Taiwan) about your story - ie helping with the investigation, donating money from any sales to charity etc. A lot of TW people only ever see the foreigners in TW on the news/in the paper when the foreigner has done something bad. Your story might go a long way to changing some of the preconceptions many TWese have about foreigners here. 13:43

The New Hampshire Bushman in Taiwan: 5371 The First Photo

Beijing2008 said… Thanks for your character and integrity Mike! We’re glad that you didn’t cash in on your photos (like some cheap conspiracy buffs might easily have done for a quick buck,) but rather helped out with the government. Thanks and we hope you enjoy your stay in Taiwan! =) (I live in Hsinchu.) Foreigners like you are what give other countries a good name. 23:29

The New Hampshire Bushman in Taiwan: 5371 Update

Hai Tien said… Thank you for doing the right thing and choosing to help with the investigation, rather than releasing the photos to the press right now for them to tear apart with the usual rampant speculation. You’ve definitely picked up another regular reader here. Much respect to you sir! 13:30

The New Hampshire Bushman in Taiwan: 5371 Update

Kenny Lin said… ?? sunrisetw (????) ?? Mon May 14 04:23:57 2007 ????5/11??????? I also want to give my personal take on the incident. I saw the jet in its final moments. The pilots had time to eject. They chose not to. Instead, they flew their aircraft into the ground on the base, thus sparing countless hundreds of lives in the crowded Hukou area that would have been lost in the crash and subsequent explosion. ???????????????????????????????????? ????????????????????????????????????? ???????????????????????????????????? ???????? When I look at the photos of 5371, I see 2 heroes in the cockpit…. ????5371(??F-5F????)??????????????????? 09:11
