This is our friend Shao Hui. She runs the local Thai restaurant karaoke. I’ve introduced several friends to her and her place, and she has the best Thai food around. She tells fascinating stories about Taiwanese gangsters jacking her up for protection money, and how her disco was shut down by the opposition calling the police and complaining about the high sound levels. Nevertheless, she has one of the nicest dispositions and a very positive attitude.
This is what I like about Shao Hui’s place – all kinds of people. Here you see Taiwanese and Thais hanging out together, in various states of consciousness.
You should see this place on the weekends! I am going to do an English menu for her. I highly recommend that you check her place out in Hukou!
