I love MOS Burger… ‘One MOS Cheeseburger, spicy, 1 large fries, 1 cola, eat here” – It’s almost the only phrase in Mandarin I can call to mind even in my sleep.

well, gridman, if it helps you to learn Chinese, all the better! they do have photo menus so you can order something else quite easily. we think it’s a great burger chain. thanks!

Hmmmm… a burger and fries… now THATS a meal that I would have no problem eating
Do they make anything like the Eagle Challenge???
I’m thinking about taking a bike ride up to Marblehead Neck (well… to the causeway) today Its about 11km each way. While up there… I may stop by a place that I’ve seen on the Phantom Gourmet. Its a place called… Evan’s New York Style Deli. The Phantom Gourmet liked the place… so I figured I would give it a try.
How does a sandwich with 3/4lb (340 grams) of Pastrami or a sandwich with 3/4lb (340 grams) of Corned Beef and Beef Brisket… for only USD $8.99 (NT $ 294) sound??? If I’m really hungry… they have a sandwish with over 1 1/2lbs (680 grams) of Corned Beef, Pastrami, and Turkey Breat for USD $18.99 (NT$ 622).
OK… now I’m getting getting hungry just thinking about my ride to Marblehead Neck… and its only 8:08am here

Mike, no, they don’t make anything like the Eagle Challenge. no one does but Eagle’s Deli! so let us know how your bike ride up for breakfast/lunch went. those prices are pretty good (for the US). which did you end up getting?

Well… I neded up going with a sandwich that they call… Evan’s Choice. Its Roast Beef and Beef Brisket with horseradish sauce (I got it with BBQ Sauce instead of the horseradish sauce) on your choice of bread (I went with what they called… Country White Bread). Cost for that one was USD $8.49 or NT$ 278.
Took some pics with my cell phone. Need to take the memoey card out of my phone and put it into my computer. Will e-mail you the pics when I do that.

Maybe after I got there a few more times and get some pics of different sandwiches (only have pics of 1 sandwich now)… then I’ll post them to Flickr.

Mountain Ocean Sun!
The dining scene in Fengyuan has improved since a Mos Burger outlet opened in the downtown area more than a year ago (which gives you a good idea of what’s it like to eat out in Fengyuan!). The only problem is that everytime I go in there, I have to fight the urge to order in Japanese!

Kaminoge, is that what MOS stands for? i’ve wonder what it meant on more than one occasion. you did just give us some good insight on dining in Fengyuan! you must go into Taichung for food a lot. i think you should go to Mos Burger and order in Japanese. see what happens! why not? they may just understand you after all!

I tried ordering in Japanese in the MOS Burger Fengyuan branch this afternoon. It didn’t work – the woman at the counter acted like she understood everything I said, then asked me all the same questions again in English.

Kaminoge, i’m sure that since you were showing off your Japanese, she insisted on showing off her English. MOS burger employees are known for not waiting to find out if you can speak the local language – they launch right into Englishee as soon as they see a “foreigner.” well, at least you know now. i wonder about Hsinchu…. there are 2 stores that we frequent. thanks.
