Geotagged Photos by MJ Klein
Phoenix is growing up fast! We got her a little push scooter and she loves it!
Along with the scooter, we got her knee and elbow pads, plus a helmet.
Surprisingly, she did not resist any of the safety equipment. She says that she likes wearing it.
Phoenix is right-handed, and I thought she might use her right foot for pushing, but you see here that she’s using her left foot.
After she did that for awhile, I asked her if she liked it better using her right foot for pushing, so she tried that.
She seemed to like using the right foot better. Her balance is pretty good!
When I took these photos, this was the first time she rode the scooter. By the third day, she figured out how to use the brake at the rear.
She is just now figuring out how to steer, by rocking the T-bar sideways.

A great set of photos! It’s only a matter of time before her first bike (with training wheels)…

hi Jim. funny, but we got her a bike with training wheels quite some time ago. she likes to sit on the seat and push with her feet. she has no concept of pedaling forwards, but she will pedal backwards for some reason. i’ve shown her videos of other kids riding and she even says that they’re pedaling, but she refuses to do it! she’s just going to have to decide to pedal forward sometime…. stubborn kid! thanks Jim.
She is really doing very well on that scooter. Bicycling is ok, but soon she’ll want to learn roller blading – that’s when things get really scary. 🙂
hi Stefan, yes, i think i’m going to dread that! thanks.
