Pod Village, originally uploaded by TheNHBushman.com.

We visited the famous Pod Village and took lots of photos for you. Look for a article on this amazing site in the very near future.

Originally began in 1980, the company that started the project ran into financial difficulty. Investors restarted the project in 1989 but subsequently had a disagreement and the project was abandoned in the same year.

That is one freaky looking structure – is it occupied?

Van Leasing » somehow i get the feeling that you’re not going to see this reply. wonder why?

You went without telling me – not good. Just kidding. I want to try and get back before it gets pulled down – this village has been very lucrative for me.

cfimages » Craig, HC and i met up with Andres to go to the Frank’s Texas BBQ restaurant. we had to pass the Pod Village on the way there, so we stopped for a short time. locals say that it will be torn down in December, so if you want to go there one more time, you’d better hurry.

sounds like a great project for the photo club – rent a bus and bring a group.

Those clams have been there for thirty years, so I don’t think there’s any worry about them being torn down. I wonder if there’s some trouble over the land deeds. Maybe they’re just forgotten on an, to some, uninteresting strip of land. Their decay will make for an interesting story – they’ll be there for another generation.

Patrick Cowsill » you haven’t been reading the news about them, apparently. the government was planning on tearing them down this month, but gave them more time as a movie is going to be shot on the location. after that, it’s demo time.

Who the heck approved this project? It’s way too close to the ocean. And pray do tell who’s going to live in UFOs?

thenhbushmanNo Gravatar reply on December 11th, 2008 12:52 pm:

Mitesh Damania » too bad you weren’t consulted.

LOL I wonder what the disagreement was about? Each flat gets 5 UFOs instead of 4. Put one on the top too! LOL

Mitesh Damania » my guess is that it had to do with money.

That’s too bad. What link are you looking at? I’ll have to direct a ride there in the near future. This is bad news. Really bad news. I hadn’t heard.

BTW, that’s a nice shot above. The water looks still rancid, and the grayish colors are just right.
