Everyone loves a banquet! We attended a banquet some time ago and we’d like to bring you photos of the food!

Like many banquets, this one started off with a cold dish – in this case it’s sliced cold chicken. Most of the time, these types of dishes are rather unremarkable, but this one was good.

Another starter dish of seafood bits.

Sliced beef. Really good.

One of my favorites: sashimi.

These shrimp were large sized and cooked to perfection!

Sometimes, we get dishes that we cannot identify exactly. This was the case with this seafood dish. I only know what it was good.

Shark’s fin soup, a staple on any Chinese banquet table.

The presentation on this seabass dish was very interesting! Taiwanese people don’t mind if the food stares back at them!

This was one of the better cracked crab dishes we’ve enjoyed.

On the left is sticky rice “yo fun” wrapped in bamboo leaves, and on the right is a form of fried cream. Very good!

This is Korean style “kim chee” or spicy pickled cabbage.

This is a medicinal style chicken soup.

Now we come to the strangest dish on the menu. This is supposed to resemble peaches.

You’ve heard of “bundt [18]” cakes before. But I call this a “butt cake” because, well, it should be obvious.

That food looks great. although the cake looks a bit like elephant droppings.
Have you done anything on street food, like smelly tofu, a-gei?

ownshawng, the cake was a trip to say the least!
if you do a search on our blog for “night market” you’ll find some stinky tofu, but i haven’t done a piece on it specifically.
