This Week In Food, Part Four

Food and other photos by MJ Klein

After the wedding, we went down to Kaohsiung to visit the family.  Ping-chen suggested that we check out a Korean style restaurant for lunch.  It was a great suggestion!

This is a shot of the grilling device, my plate and 3 very interesting sauces.  I’ve never experienced those particular sauces before and I found one of them to be very good on the grilled food.

Once we ordered, the food came very quickly.  Notice the grill all loaded up.

#3.  Are you getting hungry yet?

Korean Lunch [7]

A shot of the devastation afterwards.

The meal featured the pickled vegetables that Korean cuisine is known for.  It was an excellent compliment to the grilled fare.

Korean Lunch [10]

The restaurant has a very unusual outdoorsy decor.  Notice this log going right through the window glass.

Korean Lunch [11]

Someone spent a lot of time making that cut!

Korean Lunch [12]

The back end of the log goes into this wall.  Don’t worry, it’s a facade and not a support column.

Korean Lunch [13]

The other end goes right out of the restaurant (I’ll show you where in a minute).

These 2 stumps are part of the decor.

The log goes through the wall, intersecting the glass.

As you can see, the log goes right over the door!

Korean Lunch [19]

Beside this door is a huge stone….

…that’s been cut in 1/2 to make it appear to go thorough the glass like the log.

If you haven’t been to a good Korean restaurant in awhile, I suggest that you visit one soon!

I love all the food posts! I am starving just looking at them on my screen. Great photos as usual – I feel like I am there with you.

I love Korean BBQ, especially all the little dishes. This restaurant’s decor is particularly cool!
